Thanks for posting this pattern! I’ve been fascinated by computational textiles ever since I saw that jacket with the turn signals. I even have one of the arduino motherboards to play with. I’ll have to get one of the lilypads now for sure.

I think these socks look great and they were recommended on Ravelry. I was wondering if you would be able to adapt the pattern to make a flip flop sock? I’ve lost my pattern and it’s no longer published. I can’t find a similar one anywhere! The pattern I used had open toes, but the big toe and other toes were divided to accomodate flip flops. I be happy to pay if you were able to adapt yours -

The number of pins on the LilyPad limits the expansion capability of the circuit, at least in its current form. There’s a technique that uses sewn grids and commands that turn the lights at certain grid intersections on and off, but it’s considerably more complicated.

Would it be possible to expand the bag downward a little? It seems like there would be more spaces on the board, you would just have to get more lights. I was just wanted to make the bag deeper and perhaps add 5 more lights to the mix. What’s your thought?

I would program in the cable pattern for the sweater I’m knitting. Although a sock pattern seems more appropriate. Its the perfect size for socks.

I’ve been tinkering with the original arduino and would love to see its sister, the lilypad, in action. It combines my two passions – techy stuff and knitting! I would probably use it for socks since the bag looks socks-size and I can never remember the patterns for socks.
